URGENT LiSTED For SEVERE FAS(fear anxiety stress) & BEHAVIOR DECLINE!!!! HUNTER, A2138708, SPAYED FEMALE, BLACK PIT BULL, Shelter: SOUTH L.A. Age: 3 YEARS, 48.00 lbs. This animal has been at the shelter since 05/20/2025 and on this list since 08/12/2025. Urgent Listing Reason: 2nd Urgent alert 8/12/25: Hunter has been in our care for over 80 days without any adoption or rescue interest. We are very concerned about Hunter, as his behavior is declining and he is displaying significant behavioral concerns in the shelter environment. Hunter is generally comfortable with being handled. However, he has impulse control issues and may start fights with other dogs if he becomes overly excited. While he was previously social with other dogs, he now needs to wear a muzzle when around them. He can also be leash and barrier reactive around other dogs. Given these challenges, we believe Hunter would thrive best as the only dog in a household. We are currently unable to provide him with the resources he needs, and his continued stay in the shelter is becoming inhumane. We urgently need to find him an adoptive home or rescue placement as soon as possible. Please consider if you or someone you know might be able to offer Hunter the loving home he deserves.
