Jasper was adopted from us in 2022. His adopter had life changes and returned him to the rescue which we are very grateful she did so. This is what the previous adopter wrote to us%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|. Here's my message from last November: Ok. I remember you saying when I adopted him that it's good he's going to a home where he's the main squeeze because he likes attention. We actually had a baby and she's now 14 months old so his behavior has changed a little bit due to that but it's mainly that he marks and he takes off and runs away and likes to roam. The peeing has been a problem from the beginning although it got better for a while but if you don't watch him constantly or let him out constantly he just wanders away We just bought a new house (probably why he's marking again) and there's a busy road on a curve where cars fly by often and we're concerned he's going to get hurt. He also doesn't listen consistently. We've gotten a half dozen phone calls for people calling saying he's wandered into their garage and he's very friendly but they're looking for his owners lol We've done a puppy training program right when we got him He's very motivated by food He's a very very friendly good dog He's very great temperament He's great with the baby no aggression at all He loves other dogs He's a great dog but he needs constant training and our focus is chasing after our daughter so we feel bad We don't want him to go to a home that doesn't know the amount of attention he needs. Most of the time he just lays around but when he's hungry or wants attention or wants to go out if you're busy working from home or chasing after the baby and don't meet his needs he's peeing somewhere or he's chewing a baby toy quietly under the bed The other blessing and curse for him is he doesn't bark! So you don't even know when he needs something because he doesn't get your attention Or he won't go stand by the door if he has to go out So the only way he doesn't pee in the house is to proactively constantly let him out once an hour He just wanders away in the house and goes to do something
