About Gus

Just a few weeks ago, we welcomed Gus into our rescue, and he has been a trooper adjusting to his new surroundings. Despite being frightened and traumatized by the scary shelter, he quickly showed us how sweet he truly is. Gus is such a good boy! He goes potty outside like a champ and is super gentle. It takes him a little while to warm up to humans, but he is just unsure- not aggressive at all. Other dogs definitely help Gus feel more confident and comfortable- he feels more secure in a pack, so we definitely recommend a forever home for Gus that has other animals. We are so proud of how well he's adjusting. He enjoys car rides and farm walks, and even gets along with the horses! He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night and hasn't had any accidents in the house. While he still has a bit of a flight instinct when doors open, we're working together to build his confidence and help him feel safe. Every little milestone is a cause for celebration. Gus may have started as a frightened little boy, but he's blossoming every day. Now, we're on the lookout for a forever home for him. We recommend an adult-only, quiet home for Gus.
