URGENT!!! AT RISK FOR EUTHANIZATION!!! MAYBEE, MI . (willing to drive up to TBD, but hopefully someone would be willing to drive most of the distance towards her ). 3 Y/O MALE BLACK SHEPHERD MIX (looks like Black Shepherd/Pit Mix) (DOB:5/30/22 ). His name is ' GUNTHER/GUNNY'. Background: the Current Shepherd Parent has had Gunther for about 2 years. She was fostering him and then he was surrendered to her while fostering. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with YOUNG kids/babies/toddlers, leery of older kids/teens. Good with dogs UNLESS they are Alpha/Dominant. Good with cats, lives with 5 cats. House trained, but will sometimes go potty in the house when left alone. NOT Crate trained, freaks out and tries to escape so his best method at this time (unless someone is able to crate train him in the future) is a safe, confined room for him when he is left alone.. Any known medical issues?: NO, but does have Separation Anxiety. HIGH ENERGY?: YES. HIGH PREY DRIVE?: YES. Currently on IAMS food. Weighs 60 lbs. Good with car rides?:YES. Socialized with other dogs and/or people?: YES, does well outside of the home, but please do not let anyone approach him. Let him sniff them out on his terms. Does well with friendly and playful dogs, does not do well with dominant or aggressive dogs. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Territorial of his home and property, but does well outside of his territory. But do not let anyone approach him, let him sniff them out on his own terms. Loves: toys - treats - balls - tug toys - playing with friendly dogs - car rides - kisses - pets - playing fetch - killing moles in the yard - playtime - cuddling - walks - playing - chilling on the couch and bed- playing.. did I mention playing?- Sleeping in bed with his person - being near his person - All Humans that he knows (once he knows you, you are in) - chew toys - chew bones - playing in water - swimming - playing fetch in lakes / water. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: YES. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): YES. *Good on a Leash?:YES . *Lovable?: YES. *Eager and fast learner?:YES. Gunny is such a great boy. He does have his own issues that someone needs to help him work through. He was surrendered to the Current Shepherd Parent 2 years ago while she was fostering him. He does have signs of Abuse, so possible Abuse History. Gunther is territorial of his home and he likes to sneak up behind people when he is off leash and nip the back of their legs. Not aggressive to where he breaks the skin, but it is still an issue that needs to be worked with and through. Gunther will be an amazing companion for the right person. Re Homing because��%BD'��%BD|: the Current Shepherd Parent has now become the Caregiver for her ill brother with Home Care in the home as well. Lots of people coming and going and this is not a good, safe environment for Gunther. Will thrive best: in a loving home with NO older kids/teens who does NOT have a lot of visitors coming and going. Preferably someone who is home a lot to help ease Gunther's Separation Anxiety. Comes with: collar, leash, food, bowl, flea/tick meds remaining.
