About Milo

Milo is a 1 year old energetic puppy. He is in need of a home with an owner who is patient, has time and finances to afford a trainer or behaviorist, and a large fenced in yard. Crucially important that these requirements are met in order to adopt. Milo is neutered as of 8/7/2025 and up to date on all vaccinations and rabies vaccine. He is at a healthy weight, 20.5 lbs. He is house/potty trained and crate trained, he will happily stay in the crate without whining or barking if he can see his fellow resident dog in the crate next to him. IMPORTANT: Milo currently lives with 1 other dog who he gets along with great, fellow dog is 2 years old around the same size and weight. HOWEVER, Milo is incredibly fearful and will attack dogs unknown to him. At any distance he is scared of unknown dogs and has made multiple attempts to bite, with one event of actual bite contact. Milo also struggles on walks to handle passing joggers, bikers, or other unknown encounters. 3 months of training with diligent distance training, positive reinforcement, frequent exposures has led him to have an increased tolerance for these fears but if there is too much stimuli at once or in a row he loses composure and will yelp/bark/pull/lunge and nip and scratch if picked up. Milo was adopted at 8 months old from a home where he lived with only his mother (dog) he had no socialization, no training, Milo is friendly but cautious with kids, loves to play fetch with ball or frisbee, and is good with babies (repeated experience interacting with baby under 1 year old) he is very gentle, curious, and respectful of boundaries with small children. Milo is an incredible, goofy, cuddly, loving and smart dog. However the past few months of owning him have been difficult and are not suited to my own resources and time.
