About Bella (Victoria)

Meet Princess Isabella, aka 'Bella', aka 'Bella-Bella, Mozzarella', aka 'the Unicorn.' This 5-pound package is the undeniable ruler of our foster home! Bella is a Maltese (non-shedding) who was rescued by a local shelter from a sad situation of neglect. Meeting Bella now, you would never know it, and she has certainly put her past behind her! Bella is a young princess (vet estimates her age at 14-18 months old), and she is full of joy, play, a little mischief, and love! She imposes her will (typically a demand for snuggles and kisses) and gets her way! We expect her to be a benevolent Queen once she fully matures in her forever home. Bella very quickly adapted to our home, which includes four foster siblings (boy and girls). It only took her an hour to feel safe in our home and she claimed us as her minions. She follows us around, plays with toys, loves her food, and LOVES her foster siblings. Being young and coming from a rough start, Bella is learning the ropes on housetraining and using a doggy door into a fenced, secured area. She has also learned to sleep in a crate and will only bark if she needs to go potty. Due to her condition when rescued, Bella had to be shaved, but her gorgeous Maltese tresses are growing back beautifully! Bella is definitely a queen-bee indoors and she loves our deck, but she is very skittish outdoors and in new environments. She does not walk on leash, and will either pancake or try to escape. For this reason, her forever home must have a small-dog appropriate fenced yard. She would also thrive in a home with at least one other doggy sibling. There are rabbits bigger than this girl, so she is not suited to a home with children under 13. This princess is ready for new parents who will have lots of time to spend with her and who will keep her in the lifestyle to which she is accustomed (ha!). Bella was given the name Victoria when rescued, but we changed her name to make it shorter and more fitting to her personality. Bella is up to date on preventatives, vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and got a clean bill of health from the vet on all bloodwork and fecal tests.
