Winthrop, Maine (Cannot get pictures to load on this site right now. You may be able to view her Youtube video.) Peaches (formerly Flurry) is a 10-ish week-old, female kitten we acquire last week from a kind neighbor who rescued her from an abusive situation. She had been thrown up against the wall several times then tossed out to 'fend for herself and catch mice for food' just b/c she was being a normal-active-under-foot-playful-kitten. The previous owner willingly gave her up and we stepped in to help out and give her a safe place to stay while we find a great home for her. Despite what she has been though, she is an absolute treasure!! She is so full of love and personality, VERY playful, and engaging. She has THE loudest purr and an adorable orange heart on her head with small, orange spots here and there on her tiger-striped body. She loves to rip around her space, talking and chirping, chasing toys and darting through her play tunnels. Then she will flop down on your lap for a nap. She has the most expressive eyes and loves to snuggle. Although we do not have her in with our own pets, she has seen our dogs peeking in at her in her space and she seems to want to interact with them. We don't believe she has been around children, but with her outgoing personality, we think she would do well with kind, respectful children. We would like to see her go to a home with a friendly, non-dominant feline companion or a cat savvy dog who will play with her. We will only place her in an indoor-only home. Access to an outside, safe, cat enclosure would be a bonus. We also would like to find someone who works from home or is not gone for long stretches of time on a regular basis. We have already flea-treated her and have made a vet appointment for tomorrow, August 13, to have her spayed, vaccinated, wormed, and fully vetted. She will be available for adoption on 08/15/25.
