About DANTE

DANTE is a 1-year-old, 8.7-pound Maltipoo with a heart full of sweetness and a coat as soft as a cloud. Found as a stray, he came to us shy and unsure, but with love and care, he's turning into a playful, affectionate companion. DANTE loves affection and attention. He'll follow you from room to room, curl up in your lap, and flip over for belly rubs at every opportunity. At night, he loves snuggling in the big bed with his people. He has long legs that make him look bigger than he is, and he resembles a poodle more than a maltese, but under that fluff, he's a petite little guy. DANTE loves zooming around the yard, chasing toys, and playing with other dogs. His ideal home will have a securely fenced yard and another friendly, playful dog to help build his confidence. He hasn't been around young children, but we think he'd do well with respectful kids 10 and up. We do not know how he would be with cats. DANTE is currently working on house training and knows how to use a dog door, but he's not fully housebroken yet. He will need an adopter to be patient and use positive reinforcement to help him succeed. He's still learning about toys but enjoys chew bones and exploring the yard. DANTE is the sweetest boy looking for someone who will cherish him, give him the security he's missed, and help him become the happy, confident boy we know he can be. DANTE has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. When he first arrived, he had ear infections and a matted coat, but both have been treated, and with continued good care, his coat will grow back beautifully. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
