About Jake

Jake is a handsome, mellow cattle dog mix. While many of his breed are known for high energy, Jake prefers a slower pace, he ambles around with purpose, takes his time sniffing the world, and might break into a light trot now and then if the mood strikes him. He's not in a rush, and he's perfectly content with that. Jake enjoys backyard time, short strolls on leash, and a good toy to play with. He does appear to have a slight limp in his front left leg, so he's not the ideal hiking partner, but he's the perfect match if you're looking for a companion to share quiet outdoor time and a relaxed routine. Jake does like to ride in the car. Jake would thrive in an adult-only home where he can feel secure and respected. He can be protective of his food and isn't a fan of medical handling, so he'll need a family who understands boundaries and is willing to work with him patiently. Despite his quirks, Jake is a genuinely good dog who deserves a home where he can settle in, feel safe, and just be himself.
