Now hear this! Moose is calling for a serious hiker, adventure seeker, or rural dweller to make him their new partner. He is the perfect dog for those who enjoy nature-based work and activity. Spending lots of time outdoors with another dog feeds his soul. Moose is a very healthy and active two-year-old, 62-pound mix of some of the smartest breeds. Beside his own personality, Moose has the spirit of a Cattle Dog and the loyalty of a German Shepherd. He is a sweet and sensitive boy, but also a goofball. He loves to frolic and run through the woods, take walks, and play with a flirt pole. He loves his jolly ball, or any ball for that matter. He really enjoys car rides, too. Highly trained, Moose attended various classes to learn all about good manners, social skills, and more advanced cues. He still participates in regular training hikes. A lovely housemate, Moose does not grab food, go on furniture, or touch any toy that isn't his. He is well-behaved and not a big barker, but when there is something to bark about he generally calms down quickly. He sleeps in a crate at night, and when left alone in the house, he will happily stay in a sectioned-off room. Moose is a real darling who develops a strong bond with people he has grown attached to. He does not however feel comfortable around strangers. Having close contact or forced interaction with new people, especially in close quarters, makes him very anxious. Please give him time and space to earn trust. He also has a strong love for most dogs and enjoys playing with them. However, if he meets a new dog with bad mojo, he chooses to keep on keepin' on and he appreciates when his person does the same. Moose comes from a very good home, so finding a new family is heartbreaking. Unfortunately his protective nature has become unhealthy, possibly because he gained a new family member to watch over. He is very good around his baby 'sister' but he is more anxious with new people coming into the house. He has been air snapping and nipped two people (though no medical care was needed).Moose's current family feel they must rehome him before the baby starts walking, having play dates, and naturally being more unpredictable. Moose would be overwhelmed as the household gets busier. Moose needs an active single or couple with large dog experience and breed knowledge. He needs exercise, continued skills management, and surrounding without lots of comings and goings. No kids, cats, and apartments. He'd love space to run and explore, or a large fenced-in yard!
