Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

MICKEY, A5710576, is located in a high kill shelter kill shelter in Castaic California. Transportation information available. Meet Mickey, our toy-loving, water enthusiast. Mickey is a three year (3) old, male, black and brown, German Shepherd mix. This polite boy was surrendered to the Palmdale Care Center due to his owner having more animals than she can care for. Mickey has now been moved to the Castaic Shelter. Mickey is a sweet and attentive pup who's ready to find his forever home! This handsome guy already knows how to sit and loves catching treats mid-air. He's got some serious skills! Mickey has a gentle demeanor and forms strong bonds with his people. He's always nearby, keeping a watchful eye and ready for whatever adventure comes next. Whether it's playtime with his favorite toys or lounging around, Mickey is happiest when he's close to his humans. One of Mickey's absolute favorite things in the world? The water hose! He's completely obsessed and will happily chase the spray for as long as you'll let him. If you've got a yard and a hose, Mickey's your guy! If you're looking for a loving, fun, and loyal companion, Mickey might just be the perfect match. Volunteers notes: Once out of Mickey's kennel he pulled lightly on his leash while walking to the catch pen. He was focused on some dogs in the yard while being collared, periodically growling and barking at them. He was tense as he entered the yard but tolerated a female shepherd and male pit bull coming up to greet him. Mickey then spent a few minutes calmly roaming by himself. A male shepherd then came up to greet him. Mickey was not comfortable as the shepherd lingered near his face. He froze, growled and then lunged while snapping. The handlers quickly stepped in and pulled him back. He resumed roaming and exchanged good greetings with other dogs. He was not comfortable with face lingering but offered no further warnings. He began to relax and became playful. He enticed a male pit bull for play, pawing at his back. The pit bull did not appreciate the contact and snapped at Mickey, warning him. Mickey respected the warning and backed away. Mick was sociable and friendly for the rest of his stay in the yard.
