Cuckoo is a handsome, young, active, talkative, and fun male Parakeet looking for a loving guardian. Parakeets are the smallest of the parrot species and the most common captively kept pet bird. They can live two decades so some thought as to where you'll be in the next 20 years is important. In addition to a seed or pellet diet, parakeets may enjoy and can benefit from fruits and veggies. You can try and feed small bites of apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, coconut, pineapple, mango, apricots, cherries, blueberries, blackberries, melon, and strawberries, broccoli florets, dark leafy greens, finely chopped carrots, sweet potatoes, etc. Cuckoo was found at the base of a tree while a friend was out cycling. His owner was never located. Cuckoo's adoption fee of $40. His cage and supplies are also available for an additional $60. He is currently being fostered in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood.
