French Fry (or Frenchie) is such a special little dog. She is without a doubt, one of the sweetest dogs I've known. She is loving, submissive, energetic, playful, intelligent, snuggly, and all things happy. All she wants is to be loved, a good belly rub, and room to play. She gets along with every dog she's met, she LOVES kids, and is good with adults too. She thrives at the ranch (has been around horses & cows) running around or just riding in the UTV. We've taken her to the beach, and she LOVES to swim and go on the boat. She takes everything in stride and is grateful for every second of her life (truly!). Being a heeler mix, she is high energy and very playful. She's super curious and loves to explore & find new experiences and friends. She loves to lay in the grass and chew on all sorts of toys. She plays with our lab & our neighbor's dog until we cut her off (LOL). We walk her 5-6 days a week to get her energy out. She also LOVES to play fetch. This dog is an athlete. Ideally, she would go to a home with LOTS of outdoor space - from a big backyard to a large ranch. I think she would be fine alone, but we would really love if she went to a home with at least one dog, maybe more. Making sure she has enough space is one of our top priorities. Behavior/ training- PROS: French Fry knows how to sit and come when we whistle. She is house broken/ potty trained (goes potty only in the side yard of our house - it's amazing!!). She's also kennel/crate trained, but doesn't love it whole lot - she would rather sleep outside to spread out. She rides in a kennel in the back of the car or bed of the truck when we travel and she's perfect. She's very, very smart and can learn a lot - my husband and I are just very busy and honestly spend our time playing with her instead of teaching her because she makes us so happy. CONS: Some people don't mind this, but she likes to jump up on people. We have been working on it, and she is MUCH better. Now the only time she jumps is when we get home from work and she can't handle her excitement. The other con is she loves to explore and sometimes cannot resist the temptation. If we open our gate, there are times where she will run out and go to our neighbor's yard to play with their dog. Like we've said a lot - she LOVES other dogs and will do anything for a good playdate. Health: She's up to date on everything. Not chipped. She hasn't been spayed but we'll get that done before she goes home (our vet recommends letting them go through one heat cycle before spaying, so we've been waiting for that). She's healthy as can be! No special needs besides space to play and toys to chew on. How did we end up with her? We found her when she was about 4 months old on my family ranch and instantly fell in love. We thought she belonged to one of the workers out there, but figured out she didn't. My husband and I took her back to our house in San Antonio with intentions to take her to a shelter, but no one is taking in dogs right now, so we have been 'fostering' her for the past 2 months. We haven't posted her for sale because we don't want to let her go - we love her so very much. She's healthy as can be & is up to date on all shots & vet work. We would keep her, but already have two labradors, one of which is her exact age (puppy). We've been able to keep her since our puppy lab has been at training for the past few months, but she returns home mid-September, so we need to find Frenchie a home soon. Please text my number if seriously interested - we really, really care about making sure she gets the perfect home.
