URGENT!!! COVINGTON, KY . (willing to drive up to 50 miles ). 3 Y/O MALE SHEPHERD/ST. BERNARD (DOB: 12/24/21). His name is ' ALASTOR'. Background: CSP has had Alastor since he was 5 months, she rescued him from a very abusive home. NOT UTD on shots WITHOUT record (CSP will try to get him UTD WITH records soon). NOT Fixed. Good with kids, ADORES kids. Good with dogs. Good with cats, wants to play. House trained. Crate trained. Any known medical issues?:NO . HIGH ENERGY?: YES. HIGH PREY DRIVE?: YES. Currently on OL ROY DRY food. Weighs 90 lbs. Good with car rides?: YES, hesitant to get in the car but loves car rides once he is inside. Socialized with other dogs and/or people?: YES. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): YES. Loves: car rides- playing with other dogs - belly rubs - cuddling - going on walks - chilling on the couch - being around kids - balls - playing Keep Away- being near his person - Nylabones - stuffies - chew bones - chewing - soft blankets in his crate . *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: YES. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH):FAIR . *Good on a Leash?: FAIR. *Lovable?: VERY. *Eager and fast learner?: EAGER, BUT STUBBORN. Alastor is a great boy. He will make an amazing companion for the right family. Alastor does have an Abuse History. He was severely abused and neglected before the Current Shepherd Parent rescued him at 5 months old. After she rescued him, he was also abused by the Current Shepherd Parents' ex-husband, and would also witness the ex-husband abusing the (female) Current Shepherd Parent. The ex-husband would drag Alastor out of his crate to beat him. Because of this, Alastor does have Trauma Response if you try to physically remove him out of his crate. Please allow him to walk out of his crate on his own. He has never bitten, but he does snap his jaw as a Fear Warning. Alastor adores children and babies and wants to give them hugs and shower them with kisses. He is very protective of his people, (with good cause) especially females and kids. He is very lovable and will curl up in your lap and try to be a lap dog. He is velcro and very loyal to his person. What an absolute gem, and Alastor will be a privilege for the right Family, to have his love and loyalty. Re Homing because�'�|: The Current Shepherd Parent has rescued many animals and the county is now forcing her to re home some of them because she is over the limit, plus Alastor needs a home with more room and a bigger yard to thrive. Will thrive best�'�|?: preferably in a Female home WITH kids and another High Energy dog for Alastor to play with. Comes with: collar, leash, harness, treats, toys, blanket .
