If you are looking for a special needs Russian Blue cat to adopt, King Bob is the cat for you! Bob was dumped on the streets of Phoenix in the middle of summer. Then someone watched as a person kicked Bob in the butt so hard that he broke his tail and damaged his spinal cord so badly he can't pee on his own anymore. This doesn't stop Bob from being everyone's best friend though. He is quick to love every new person that comes his way. We have been teaching Bob tricks. Right now he knows how to beg, spin, and jump on your back. He is very food motivated especially for freeze dried minnows, Churus and Delectables. He loves to play with laser pointers and feather wand toys. He is a very curious cat who loves to explore new areas. He really loves spending his time in a catio, climbing a cat tree. When you come home he gets talkative and will tell you how much he missed you, even if you were gone for just a couple of minutes. Bob's tail is healed from the break and he has a little bit of movement in it, but for the most part you won't see it move much. He still can't pee on his own so he does need to be expressed 3 times a day. He does take lactulose 2-3 times a week to help keep the stool soft enough for him to poop on his own. He is also on 2 supplements to prevent him from getting a UTI. He gets both of those twice a day. Bob does great with taking oral meds. He doesn't put up a fight at all. As you can see Bob does have quite a few medical needs, but once you get into the swing of things it's actually easy to take care of him. Plus, seeing Bob playful and loving life despite everything gives you tremendous satisfaction and fulfillment in life. Bob's ideal family wouldn't have any dogs or other cats. He does well with children 12 years old or older. It would be great if the adopter had experience expressing a cat bladder, but if not, we'd be happy to show you how it's done. You'd come over regularly to do it with us until you are able to do it alone confidently. Bob has to stay on a wet food only diet because dry food causes him constipation. King Bob is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, snap tested, and his blood work is normal. On top of that, he's had an MRI and X-rays to pinpoint the exact trauma he faced. Proof of all his medical records can be provided.
