RJ is a formally feral cat who has become a playful sweetheart. This little guy is very shy at first, but once he gets to know you, you'll have a friend for life. He loves playing with wand toys and eating freeze dried treats. He enjoys watching the birds outside of a window and rubbing against your legs when you get his meal together. RJ will sleep with you at night and sometimes even put his paw in your hand when he's taking a nap. RJ's ideal family wouldn't have any dogs. He would love a home that had another cat for him to play with or adopted with Keith (our other adoptable cat) because the two of them get along great. He wouldn't be happy as an only cat. RJ does well with calm, older children. Especially since loud noises and new environments scare him easily. RJ does have FIV. Simply put, it means that he has a weakened immune system. FIV does not kill cats. They can live just as long as healthy cats. It can't be passed to humans or other species. FIV and non FIV cats can live together because it is only spread through deep bite wounds. Not when cats groom each other, share food/water bowls or share litter boxes. RJ is neutered, microchipped, snap tested, dewormed and blood work is normal. He would love to be part of a family that is patient with him as he slowly gets to know them.
