About Kylo

Our family is moving abroad in two weeks, and we are unable to bring our PWD Kylo with us. Kylo is a 5-year-old Portuguese Water Dog, about 55-60 lbs, and we're looking for the right home for him. Our goal is to find someone who understands his needs and can give him a safe, stable, and loving environment. Kylo is trained, active, and absolutely loves going to the park and playing fetch. He thrives with daily exercise and would be happiest with someone who can give him regular outdoor time and plenty of activity. He's also incredibly loyal and affectionate once he bonds with someone. That said, he comes with some challenges. He is skittish and anxious, especially around strangers. He does not like to be touched by unfamiliar people and has a bite record from 2023. He isn't suited for homes with children and other dogs. Ideally, he'd be placed with a strong handler who has experience with dogs, especially those with anxiety and fear-based behaviors. He needs a calm, confident and firm person who can help him feel secure - and once that trust is built, Kylo becomes incredibly loyal. What matters most to us is finding a home where he'll be safe, understood, and happy.
