About Ruby (aka Sweetpea)

Ruby (aka Sweet Pea) is housebroken and loves her crate. She loves to eat but never counter-surfs, even though she could easily reach the goodies she covets. Ruby has had no problem distinguishing between her things and the fosters' things and does not chew on anything that is not hers. She loves her toys, plays fun games like 'Find It' and has shown her smarts with puzzle toys. She has even started learning how to use talking buttons, a method for dogs to communicate with their humans. Ruby knows Sit, Wait, Down, Bed, and more. When her fosters are out of the house, she is great in her crate and will even put herself in it when she knows they are getting ready to go out. When the sun shines, her favorite place is lounging on her bed in a sunny window. Ruby is a great snuggler! She is not allowed on the furniture at her foster home, but if they sit on her dog bed, she will happily cuddle up. She is very loyal to her people and remembers the new friends that she has met. Her sturdiness and play style might not mesh with little children, but older kids are great. She recently spent some time with an 11-year-old and loved him! Her fosters say 'She is so goofy! She keeps us laughing with her silly antics. She has brought home a couple of very large sticks (like 5 feet long) and enjoys chasing them, chewing on them, and sometimes just parading them around.'
