They are now scheduled to be euthanized!!! Canelo on 8/13 and Mocha on 8/17!!!!! URGENT LISTED! Two favorite Gingers: Mocca & Canelo!!! Can be adopted separately or together. My favorite red-haired cuties are struggling and urgently need out of North Central Animal Shelter before they are euthanized!!! Mocca, #A2199001, 1 yr 8 month, 66 lbs: This sweet girl was surrendered to the shelter in May. She is a people affiliative pup with medium energy (she seems happy running around for a few minutes in the yard, followed by a session of indoor relaxation). She's receptive to training and shows signs of being potty trained. Mocca would do well in a home with a breed experienced owner with no young children or other pets, though she has shown she can do well with confident male dogs in one-on-one's or in small playgroups. Slow introductions are always recommended. Canelo, #A2202531, 1 yr, 7 months, 71 lbs: This gentle boy has had rough go in the shelter. From battling an URI to hurting his hind leg, he can't catch a break. Though that left him confined while he healed (up to 12 days without being able to leave his kennel!), he remains as sweet and gentle as ever with volunteers, soliciting affection and eager to show his tricks when they take him out. He's described by volunteers to be on the lower energy side and calm. He can be selective in playgroups but has shown he can have a playful side with a rough/rowdy and push/pull play style and is steerable. The shelter is no place for these young dogs! The loud, chaotic environment is wearing on them both mentally and physically. They've been added to the urgent list (precursor to euthanasia) and need out ASAP!!! Visit the shelter!
