Even though 8 lb, 10-year-old Toby is Special Needs, he is quite amusing and completely adorable. He can hear but is never quite sure where what he hears is coming from. While his eyesight is not great, he can absolutely see. We believe he is a Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese Mix although we are not certain. He has arthritis in his lower back so while his little legs will not be running in a marathon, what his Foster Mom has observed is once Toby is warmed up and starts walking she has trouble catching him. He is not completely housetrained but Foster Mom knows this so as soon as she hears him stirring, she puts him in the yard, he does his business and all is well. Toby loves being petted, held and is comfortable on people's laps. As can be seen from one of the photos, his hair was horrifically overgrown when found in the street. He needed to be shaved down as he was full of mats, burrs and foxtails. He sleeps beautifully through the night and is fine with other dogs and cats. The only time Toby barks is if his Foster Mom is slow at feeding time! Toby is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
