About Patton

Bull Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This little tank is 3 years old, 33 lbs & neutered. Patton was bought as a puppy by an older gentleman who always wanted a Bull Terrier & who is wheelchair dependent, living in a condo, with no backyard. Patton has never had proper daily exercise or an outlet for his normal Bull Terrier energy so when he started to become unmanageable his previous owner had his vet put him on Trazodone, which is a drug known to cause reactivity in dogs if used long term. Upon evaluation, we knew Patton needed professional training after we had him evaluated before taking him into our rescue program, so he went straight to the trusted team in Orlando where we train many of our neediest dogs. He initially was just a happy untrained guy who desperately needed to learn some boundaries & manners. We worked closely with the training team to safely work him through what has been a very stressful week for our team, the trainers & most of all Patton, who's whole world has been turned upside down. Patton has made tremendous progress learning to slow his thinking down & also starting to learn a recall. Patton has a long road ahead of him but we are committed to him. We share detail of his past in hopes to EDUCATE & SPREAD AWARENESS of the misuse of certain drugs. It is so important to RESEARCH THE BREED you are seeking out & to make sure you are capable & willing to commit to their needs! Bull Terriers need daily exercise ESPECIALLY puppies! Stay tuned for more on Patton who is the most adorable guy & is already making incredible strides.
