Max is your typical puppy. He knows come, sit and working on stay when his energy level isn't crazy. House and crate trained (just tell him get in your box) and has so far been great with the kids. He is mostly around as many as 3 kids ages 3-7 and has been playful if sometimes he forgets his size. One of the kids constantly lays on and hugs him without any reaction. Loves all forms of water - even mud puddles & sewage lagoons - YUCK but he bathes well. We live in the country so he's not been leash trained. Max has never been around cats but has chased and eliminated rabbits and squirrels. The reason we are unable to keep Max is that he bit the Amazon delivery driver. We have a female Lab/Shar pei and she is very alert to strangers, animals and the like. She barks loudly and aggressively but that's all she's ever done. Max has started feeding off this energy and showing more territorial aggressive in general. We have other delivery drivers that regularly come and have not had problems. Only my teenage daughter and granddaughter were home the day of the bite so I don't know what happened or why this recurring driver suddenly had a problem. I don't know how to teach Max an alert or warning is ok but that's where it needs to stop. Other than running around outside, he ideal time would be on the couch with his head in my lap or laying on one of the kids' beds. He thinks he is a lap dog. He is not food or toy aggressive.
