About Daisy Mae

German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

My husband and myself are needing to rehome our 2 year old Black Female German Shepard Daisy Mae. She was born approximately end of February 2023. She is a large dog a bit too much for me to handle on my own due to my own health issues. My husband had emergency spinal surgery on May 20th and was in the hospital a month and now in a nursing home as he needs physical and occupational therapy to gain feeling in his feet and legs and relearning to walk. He will likely be there yet another month. Once he returns home he will not be able assist in caring for Daisy as he was her primary care giver in our home. Daisy is house broken and crate trained but would prefer to be outside most of the time running and playing. She is good with our kids who were ages 7 and 9 when we got her and our 11 year old Beagle mix. Our children live with their mother in another town and can't have her where they are living. She is full of energy but once she is out of her crate and runs a bit she settles down. She is a protective and a great watch dog. She likes cats but is a tad aggressive for our cats liking. She wants to play with them but she doesn't realize she is much larger than they are. She isn't a fan of bath time but loves to play in the creek. She has NOT been fixed. Her mother and father were both full blood black German Shepherd. However, the man we got her from did not have paperwork for her since her litter was unexpected, her mom and dad got out together by accident. She deserves so much more than what we can provide her with our situation. She also does well at walking without a leash and will stay by your side, she has done this since she was a puppy. As we live in South Anderson in a small subdivision we have never put her on a leash while out with us walking. Which is not an activity we can provide for her any longer. Daisy needs a great yard and family to give her the attention she deserves. We are desperately trying to find her a good home so we do not have to surrender her to a shelter. Thank you!
