Meet Marnie !! This super cute active puppy is both sweet and fun. She's been very loving and learning all of her puppy training. Marnie is an approx. 13 week old, female mix breed. She weighs 20 Pounds. She is already spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. ***She came to us with a minor skin infection on her nose (visible in photos) it's being treated with antibiotics and clearing up nicely.*** We are not sure on her breed. The shelter labeled her as a Newfoundland mix but we don't think that's correct. She's nowhere near that size and has smaller paws. We think she's a mix of a lot of things but are going with retriever mix best guess. Marnie has done really well with other dogs of all sizes. She loves to play with them. She does enjoy having another doggie friend around. She's seen cats in the foster home and was excited but the cat wanted no part of puppy meet ups. She may or may not do well with cats. She has not been fostered with kids but has done well with all the kids she's met so far. She just loves attention from anyone. She is doing really well with her house manners for her age. She is still young and will need continued training. She is great on car rides. She is doing well with leash training but will occasionally lay down and stop walking or try chewing on the leash. She is doing well with crate training so far, we cover the crate as she becomes very vocal in there if she sees you while she's in it. She's not perfect with potty training but starting to figure it out. So far she has a higher energy level. Definitely a lot of puppy energy. She will need a family willing to give her lots of physical and mental exercise. She likes to play tug with tug toys. She is a tough chewer and likes very thick toys. She really enjoys laying on the grass and watching things happen outside. Marnie has not had any issues sharing food, treats, or toys with people or other animals. She has some separation anxiety and can be vocal if left alone outside or when you leave. She is also still in the puppy chewing stage and her family needs to teach her what she can and can't chew on. She is incredibly smart and learning so fast. She does know how to sit and what no means. She seems to be a people pleaser and really wants to make you happy. Her foster describes her as very easy to manage. Overall she is a really well rounded and wonderful puppy. She has a great personality and is very loving. She would make a great new addition to a family willing to put in a little more work to perfect her puppy training. Her foster family says; In the short time we have been with her she has been delightful. She is funny, loving, playful, and an all-around great pup. Someone is going to love her for a very long time. When you have a puppy with the potential to grow to a large dog it is important to prioritize training so you wont end up with an 80 pound wild dog on your hands. How a puppy turns out is 100% on your family and the effort you put in to training when they are young. She has so much potential with the right guidance. Vet and home checks required.
