About Bijou aka Russell

Russell (aka Bijou) came to us from El Centro CA from a wonderful but very overcrowded shelter. He is a very polite and friendly boy and has done well adjusting to his foster home. He is pretty well housebroken (with dog door) and has demonstrated no 'marking' behavior. He is also leash trained and LOVES going for short walks and prefers to be on harness. He is not a fan of the crate but has great house manners! He is very gentle. loves to follow his human around, likes laying on the tile floor (cool), and loves belly rubs, He got a clean bill of health and the cough he had when he first came has resolved. Russell is estimated around 11 years old and is about 25 lbs but could stand to lose a couple. He has been friendly with everyone he has met (2 legged and 4 legged) and would prefer having a calm 4 legged friend and is ok with cats. He is not a picky eater but will need to remain on a weight loss plan. He has started to play a little (shows interest in toys) so as he gets comfortable that behavior may emerge more.
