About SUE

Lab mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Sue is a beautiful girl in urgent need. Her owner has to move by the end of July (less than a week), and is only able to afford a place that doesn't allow pets. She is working with several groups and is desperately hoping Sue can find a new home/rescue before then. Name: Sue Age: Born in February 2018 Breed: Mixed, 40 pounds Sex: Female, not spayed Location: Boone County, WV Vet Info: Sue is not spayed. She received her one-year rabies and DHLPP vaccines on March 19, 2025. She has not had a recent heartworm test. Sue appears completely blind and her owner gave us more details: 'Developed a double eye infection early this year, the infection cleared with medication but left her permanently blind. She does have some whiteness in her eyes which the vet says is probably early cataracts.' Her owner also writes, 'Has some lumps on her face. They don't seem to bother her and she is on a round of antifungals at the moment to see if that helps. Will occasionally bump the top of her head, vet said to treat any open wounds in that situation with warm water and Neosporin.' Dog Info: Sue is an indoor dog with run of the house. She is housebroken and leash trained. Sue is a smart girl and knows several commands, including Sit, Shake, Lay Down, and Speak ('go woof'). She is described as shy, and is good with people of all ages. Her owner gave us more details about how she is with other dogs: 'She does well with other dogs, she is more reserved and spooks easily since losing her sight but doesn't snap or growl.' Sue is not good with cats. Sue's owner tells us Sue is very affectionate with people and would probably do best in a home with multiple people, or someone who works from home. She's also crate trained and 'Will destroy most toys but does not chew furniture, shoes, etc.' Sue is not possessive of toys, treats, or food and has never bitten or snapped. Her owner feels she adapts well to new situations and writes, 'Yes, occasionally she will run into furniture but does fairly well at mapping rooms. She does get spooked if she doesn't hear you approach but has never snapped or growled.' Sue is hoping for her second chance! **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners are unable to keep them.
