Do to a change in circumstances, I'm going to have to move cross country to stay with family. I won't have a place of my own for probably at least a year. This means I need to find a home for my big boy. Chief is about 8 years old, intact male. I've had him since he was a pup. He's a sweet snuggle bunny with his owners - and likes to give 'hugs' - but quite protective against strangers - especially men. He's not house trained. He has always loved children, but I would introduce them gradually and under supervision just for safety. He does fine with our dogs (neutered male and female), but I would be careful introducing him to new dogs. He's used to being alpha. He's fine with our cats but I have seen him act very aggressive towards cats he doesn't know. Not particularly useful as a livestock guardian (At least not within the same fence since he tries to guard the animals' feed and won't let them eat it). He will definitely let you know if there's a predator nearby though. Chief is up to date on his rabies vaccination. He had a surgery about 4 months ago to repair a broken jaw after he got loose during a storm (and got hit by a car, I assume). They did blood work in preparation for his surgery and he seems to be in good health. Like many/most Pyrenees, he definitely needs a good strong fence to keep him in - 5 ft high or higher. Please give my big guy a good loving home for his remaining years. He's a sweetheart and he deserves it.
