Meet Dunhill !! This guy has made so much progress we wanted to make him a solo post. His brothers found great homes and he's ready to find a home of his own. ***He looks big in his photos but hes a smaller guy*** He came to us very shy and fearful. He has really come out of his shell and started to seek out human attention more. He is still fearful about being reached for and will try to hide. He will start to come to you on his own and once you pick him up he becomes very cuddly and happy. It's just the reaching part that seems to scare him still. He is an approx. 4 month old male puppy. He weighs 11 pounds currently. His mom is only 20 pounds full grown but dad is unknown. He will likely be a smaller size dog. (Last photo is mom) We don't know his exact breed. His mom looks a bit like a rat terrier mix. He likely has a few breeds mixed in. (Mom and siblings have separate posts) Dunhill will be vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and neutered as part of his adoption. He is fostered with other dogs and after he sees they are friendly he loves them. Having another dog in the home helps him feel more confident. He has never met any cats so we are not sure how he would do but likely would be fine. He's still young enough to learn proper cat manners with your guidance. Dunhill has done well with kids so far. Very loving and once picked up will cuddle with anyone. He does not like to be chased around so kids will have to learn to wait until he is ready and not chase or grab him. He has not been aggressive he is just afraid. Once comfortable with you he will play a bit. He does sometime chew on hands when playing but is learning the rules more each day. He is good on car rides. A bit nervous at first but doesn't get sick. He's is very good about crate training. He's not been vocal at all and does fine with being crated a full work day. He is not leash trained. He's still a bit afraid of that. He loves exploring around the yard with the other dogs. He also seems to enjoy water and will take full advantage of a good mud hole to play in. Dunhill tries his best with potty training. He is having fewer accidents as time goes by and he learns, but he is not perfect with it. He will likely regress some when moving to a new place while he adjusts to a new routine. So far he has a medium energy level. He plays and runs but also relaxes. Loves a good couch snuggle or to just lay by himself and rest. He has not had any trouble sharing, food, treats, or toys with other dogs or people. He enjoys couch cuddling and loves squeaky toys. He's very food motivated which helps a lot with overcoming his shyness. This guy is so adorable and such a sweet boy. He tries so hard to overcome his shyness. If you're looking for a sweet guy with a ton of potential then he's your boy!! Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) Will do best with a fenced yard or even a small fenced area to potty in due to fear level with the leash. '%BC%8FPlease message [email protected] or for faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application. '%BC%8F
