About Meg

Cuteness Overload!!! Meet Meg, a petite and adorable 2-year old female Idaho Shag who weighs 35 pounds. Meg is a sweet girl who is really thriving in her foster home. She came into the rescue quite fearful but has enjoyed time in her foster home where she is starting to relax and know what it feels like to be safe and trust her person. Her foster mom has been working on building Meg's confidence and Meg is really coming along. Meg is being fostered in Bend in the country where she spends her days playing with the foster's dog, helping her foster mom work on projects around the property, and getting some training and having a lot of fun. Meg loves being in the house and has good indoor manners. She is being fostered with two dog-savvy cats and they get along well. It seems as though she is house trained too. Meg has recently been learning to play fetch and this week she actually brought the ball back! Meg has a very good disposition and is a lovely dog to be around. However, she is quite fearful so she will continue to need a safe space, a predictable routine, positive reinforcement, and gradual exposure to her fears. So, her ideal home would be with kind and patient humans, NO CHICKENS, no small children, and an escape proof yard. If Meg were placed in a home with a friendly and playful dog, we feel she would see such a dog as a guide to help her navigate her new environment. For example, she has little to no recall except when the foster's dog comes, Meg comes. Meg is slowly meeting new people and having new experiences. She is currently living in the country and would do well in a rural environment or a low-key home in a quiet setting.
