About Shorty

I have a beautiful girl named Shorty we are regretfully rehoming. Little side-story: Shorty is a 2-yr-old spayed heeler mix that came from WY. Her previous owner was rehoming her due to a move. My fiance and I thought we could give her a good home with our other heeler and cat. However, our cat is very stressed with a new dog and since shes 13, we don't want to stress her more than needed. Between my new job and his, we have also realized we don't have the time to give her, as we barely have time for the two pets we already have. I want to be clear: we are not taking her to a shelter, and we will give her the best love we can until we find someone who can give her what she needs. We will also take her back if it doesn't work out. We do not want her in the shelter. She is the sweetest girl in the world. She gets along well with other dogs but will let them know when they're violating her space (our other heeler is 1 year old, so he does not give personal space). She loves to swim, and she loves to go on walks. I hardly have to hold her leash because she heels the whole time during a walk without having to say anything. She is pretty nervous around new people, and pretty jumpy, but im sure she will grow out of that once she gets to know you. She will lay her head in your lap for scratches. She does need to lose some weight, shes about 58 lb and needs to be around 40-45. I had her seen by my vet that I work at and we have come up with a plan. She will come with her food.
