Courtesy Posting: CARPENTERIA/NR VENTURA, CA- SPECIAL NEEDS, BEAUTIFUL 45 LB GIRL 'ZUMA' - VICTIM OF PALISADES FIRE and also now has ADDISON'S DISEASE - IN NEED OF A LOVING HOME OR FOSTER AFTER OWNER LOST HOME and PLANNED TO EUTHANIZE HER- DOG FRIENDLY Please help us find a forever home, or foster, for Zuma who was adopted by a family who later lost their home in the Palisades fire. They were planning to euthanize because they no longer could care for her when a kind person hearing about her dire situation just stepped in and has placed Zuma in temporary boarding in hopes a home or foster can be found quickly so she is not euthanized. Zuma is currently at a doggie camp where she regularly interacts with other dogs and has made friends. She is described as a great dog who loves to play with toys and aims to please. We have nice videos of her enjoying being pet and with other dogs. Zuma has a very soft coat, a blackish tongue suggesting she has some chow in her, although she looks more shepherd and border collie like. However, at only 45 lbs, she is perfect size and can also make a great companion. Zuma is already spayed, vaccinated and chipped. While she has been diagnosed with Addisons, which requires hormone replacement therapy and is on prednisone for this, we understand it should not affect her life span, unless it's untreated. Zuma currently takes a pill every other day. We are now looking for a loving home or foster to save Zuma. If you are interested in meeting and adopting Zuma, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is assisting the good sam with placement. If you have another dog or pet, a meet and greet is strongly advised, and she is recommended to be fed separately as she had some food resource guarding in a temporary home. We will be posting more pictures and videos of Zuma on facebook at: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10167326575383125&id=783968124&mibextid=wwXIfr Note: to view contents of link you will need to copy and paste it into your browser.
