LAVENDER is a 19 month old, 9.5 pound Maltese Yorkie mix surrendered by her owner. She's got a big personality and lots of love to give. She'd do best in a home with a securely fenced yard, not too much alone time, and either as an only dog or with confident dogs her size or bigger. LAVENDER loves people and did great recently with a couple of kids who wanted to play with her nonstop. She's always up for cuddles, and will happily curl up next to you when playtime is done. At night, this little snuggler wants to sleep in bed with her family, but if she's a little too hyped, she'll settle in a pen with just a bit of protest. LAVENDER gets along well with other playful dogs, but she can be a bit of a brat to more sensitive pups. She'll jump on them or give a little snap if they're getting attention or bothering her. So we wouldn't recommend a home with senior dogs or dogs smaller than her. We haven't tested her with cats, but we suspect she'd probably annoy one more than anything. LAVENDER will play with toys or other dogs-or just steal random stuff off the coffee table when you're not looking. Glasses, lotion bottles, bookmarks, crackers... nothing is safe. A puppy pen or a dog-proofed room when you're gone is a must! LAVENDER is decently potty trained as long as she's let out regularly, but she'll occasionally leave you a surprise inside. Her foster family is working with her on this. Her leash skills also need work. LAVENDER has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida.
