URGENT: Scout Needs Out by June 27th at 4:00 PM Scout (A273518) is a 2-year-old, 50-pound Lab/Hound mix who was surrendered to the shelter for being too energetic for the senior cats in his home. He is housebroken, friendly with men, women, and children (ages 6 and up), and does great with other dogs and strangers. Outside of the kennel, Scout is a loving, playful dog who has become a volunteer and staff favorite due to his sweet and affectionate nature. Unfortunately, Scout is declining rapidly in the shelter. He spends most of his time pacing, panting, vocalizing, and jumping at the roof of his kennel, overwhelmed by the confinement and stress of shelter life. He has not responded to anxiety medications and refuses to take pills, making his situation even more critical. Scout lived his whole life in a home and is now struggling in this chaotic environment. If no one steps up to foster, adopt, or rescue Scout, he will be euthanized on Friday, June 27th at 4:00 PM. Scout urgently needs a home outside of the shelter. He would do best in a home without cats or one with confident cats who can be slowly introduced. A home with social dogs who set clear boundaries would also benefit him as he adjusts. Scout just needs a chance to decompress and be given the time and space to return to the dog he was outside of the shelter walls. To meet or foster Scout, go to Pinal County Animal Care & Control located at 1150 S. Eleven Mile Corner Rd, Casa Grande, AZ 85194. You can also call 520-509-3555 or email [email protected]. Please bring any resident dogs or children for a meet and greet. Scout's life depends on finding a safe place before 4:00 PM on June 27th.
