About DIXIE DARLING

DIXIE DARLING is a precious 2 year old, 8.8 pound Yorkie surrendered by her previous owner. She is a great cuddler looking for a lap! DIXIE is quiet, timid, and sweet. Once she knows you, she will attach quickly and prefers to stay close by. If she could be in your lap 24/7, she would be! Her favorite things are giving kisses, treats, pets, cozy naps, and staying snuggled right next to you, especially in bed at night. She has separation anxiety and does not like being alone. She will not do well spending much time alone and should go to a home where somebody can be with her more often than not. DIXIE gets along with other small dogs and would be best in a home with at least one other furry friend who will run and play with her. She may take a minute to warm up to them but once she does she will happily do zoomies around the yard with them. Children and cats are unknown, but because she's shy and easily overwhelmed, she would do best in a calm, adult-only home. DIXIE is not 100% housebroken, but is doing really well with a routine. She's not leash trained, and because she can be nervous and unfamiliar surroundings we want her to have a home with a fenced yard. DIXIE has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
