Maximus is just a year old-still very much a baby-and already life has taken a difficult turn. His owner is facing a serious illness and made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him, hoping someone else could give him the love and stability he deserves. Now in the shelter, Maximus is full of confused energy-still so young, still so eager to bond. He's playful, vocal, and affectionate with people. When volunteers visit, he lights up: jumping to hug arms, leaning in for pets, and soaking up any attention he can get. His joy is contagious, even in the middle of uncertainty. Like many pups his age, Maximus needs a little structure-he pulls hard on leash, jumps up when excited, and is still learning the ropes of being a good boy. But his potential is endless. He just needs someone patient, consistent, and ready to show him the way. He'd do best in a home with adults or older kids, where he can settle in and grow at his own pace.
