About BALOO

BALOO is a 3.5-year-old, 10.7-pound Yorkie. Recently surrendered to the rescue, he's now discovering what it means to be part of a loving home. BALOO is a little shy at first but quickly warms up and becomes the sweetest companion you could ask for. He clearly craves love and would make a loyal lap dog once he feels secure with his person. BALOO is generally ok with other small dogs and is fostered with several dogs, but we believe he'd do best with a friendly female dog of a similar or slightly larger size. He's still a bit unsure around big dogs, simply because he's not used to them. We do not know how he would be with cats. He hasn't been tested with young children and can be nervous around loud noises, so a home with teenagers or adults is recommended. BALOO is doing well using a dog door and adjusting nicely to indoor life, though he's not fully house-trained yet. He had never lived in a home before, so he's still learning, including understanding that marking indoors isn't okay. He'll need a bit of patience and consistency as he continues to adapt-but he's making great progress. He will thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard, as he's not leash-trained. BALOO is beginning to explore the joy of toys-especially squeaky ones, which both intrigue and confuse him! At night, BALOO happily sleeps in the big bed with his foster parent, soaking up the comfort and love he likely missed out on before. BALOO is a work in progress, but with a little time, love, and patience, he's going to be a fabulous, loyal pet. He's ready to find a home where he'll be cherished and truly become part of the family! BALOO has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally.
