DARLA & ELLA - A Bonded Pair of Sweet Senior Sisters Looking for Their Forever Home Who has room in their hearts and homes for a very special pair of ladies? DARLA and ELLA are 13-year-old Maltipoo sisters who have been through so much and still have so much love to give. Originally surrendered to us in 2019, they've been adopted and returned twice-through no fault of their own-as their loving owners faced health challenges or passed away. These sweet girls are now hoping their next home will be their true forever. DARLA (white with black) is spunky, sweet, and social. She loves attention, enjoys short walks, and has adorable little bursts of energy. She's mostly deaf and has limited vision, but navigates familiar spaces with confidence-especially when her sister is nearby. ELLA (mostly black) is Darla's devoted shadow-shy, gentle, and deeply bonded to her sister. She's protective of Darla but warms up beautifully with patience. She can see and hear well, and loves curling up with Darla for cozy naps. They're both not fully potty trained but do fairly well with potty pads. They walk great on leashes, eat well, and bring a quiet, loving presence to any home. These girls must be adopted together, they've never known life apart. They'd do best in a calm, adult-only home, ideally as the only dogs (though other mellow pups may be okay). A fenced yard is preferred. Darla and Ella deserve peace, safety, and love. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs have been to the vet for a wellness check, are up to date on shots, are spayed/neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Dogs 1 year old and over are heartworm tested and received a year of heartworm prevention with a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot. Almost all senior dogs also have dentals. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally.
