My name is Charlie. I was rescued on August 4, 2024 from the side of a rural Alabama Highway after my owner left me there with another dog. ���z No one offered to foster me so a nice lady took me to the animal clinic for all my vetting and I waited there for 7 weeks!! I learned to walk pretty good on a leash in those weeks! I was neutered, heartworm negative, had vaccines, and microchipped. I'm healthy and about 55 lbs. The vet estimates me 3.5 years old. Another dog got adopted so I went to live in a foster home, which is where you'll find me. I'm near Montevallo, but we could set up a meet and greet! I've been here 7 months now, but 9 months in rescue. There is nothing wrong with me so I'm not sure why I haven't found my home. ��%A4� I'm crate trained and I can be trusted outside in a fenced yard. I don't dig or climb. I play with all the dogs at my foster home, girls and boy dogs, but Maggie is my favorite. ���%8D That said, I can be an only dog. I'd make a great walking buddy for you. I like toys, bones, and chews and I don't have resource issues. I've got good manners and won't bother your things. I eat 2 cups of dog food each day and a few dog biscuits. I am food motivated and could do well with one on one training. Cats make me bark. I see them sometimes outside and they make me feel unsettled. No one knows if I've evewr been around kids. My foster has a school aged grandson so she feels it's best that if kids are in the home, that they are in middle schoool or older. At one time I was chained to a tree with an embeddded collar. I do have a one inch wide scar across the back of my neck that will never go away from my previous life of neglect, but I don't remember those times. I am a house dog now. Life is good being cared for by loving people. I love my crate and will be quiet as a mouse when crated. Please help me find my forever home! Alabama or New England.
