Some dogs just need a little more love, and JJ is one of them. JJ is a sweet, clingy boy with a heart that's been through more than any dog should ever endure. Before he came to us, JJ lived a life no animal deserves - used in dog fighting, robbed of kindness and safety. Despite that terrible start, he still trusts, still loves, and still hopes. When he's happy, he lets out an adorable snort, a sound that's pure joy from a heart that refuses to give up. JJ struggles with separation anxiety because he knows too well what it's like to be left behind. He's not crate trained - he's happiest curling up in a soft dog bed, dreaming of better days. His favorite things are simple: hotdogs, pup cups, peanut butter, and long car rides. He goes through toys quickly, but he clings to his one indestructible rubber bone - a small comfort in an uncertain world. JJ is wonderful with kids (though his clumsy excitement means he might knock over little ones), and he adores cats and small pets. He currently lives peacefully with a female dog who is also up for rescue, but because of his past, he must meet any new dog friends before joining a new family. Right now, my heart is breaking because I have no choice but to find JJ a new home. My husband has been diagnosed with severe kidney disease, and I am now working two jobs to try to keep us afloat - but it's not enough. We are losing our home, and I can't give JJ the stability or time he desperately needs. I see the toll it's taking on him: being alone for so many hours leaves him so anxious he sometimes can't even keep his food down. JJ deserves more than I can give him now - he deserves a family who will be there for him, who understands that healing takes patience, love, and time. Please, if you have room in your heart and home for a dog who will love you with everything he has, give JJ the life he's been waiting for.
