Meet Buddy Buddy is the most fantastic dog! We rescued Buddy from a high kill shelter. We're not sure how he ended up there, but we knew he needed to get out. We rescued him and brought him to the safety of our no-kill shelter. Buddy has been through a lot of turmoil and we think he's in a bit of shock at finding himself in a strange place surrounded by people he doesn't know. For one so tiny, it's extra scary. Buddy is just three years old and weighs 12 lbs. He's a wee thing with the best personality. Buddy is thought to be a pug/chi mix. He is an absolute gentleman. Being candid though, it can take Buddy a minute to warm up. His defenses are heightened right now and he has no idea that he is safe. After spending more time with us, we expect his confidence to build and his defenses to recede. Our staff is gentle and kind to him and he is responding so well. Once he's comfortable he is sweet, friendly, calm, quiet, and just a full-on love. Buddy is completely house-trained. He has terrific doggie manners. He walks easily on a leash and loves to stroll with his people. Buddy loves to give snuggles and kisses. He loves being held, sitting in a lap or going for a car ride. Buddy has it all. Buddy loves people of all sizes and ages, but unfortunately he does not like other dogs and will chase a cat so Buddy will have to be an only pet. If you're looking for a companion to keep you company, Buddy will be that and more. This boy is a keeper. It may take a minute for him to fall in love, but we promise you'll fall in love like we have. If interested in welcoming Buddy to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter ([email protected]) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
