URGENT: EXPERIENCED FOSTER, ADOPTER, OR RESCUE NEEDED FOR PARKER Parker lost his foster home and, after spending over half his life growing up in a kennel, we are desperately looking to get him back into a loving environment. Time is running out, and we need a foster or adopter immediately to save this sweet boy. Parker is a 2-year-old, 53 lb. hound/pit mix with a heart full of potential. He's resilient, goofy, and eager to please, but he's never had the right environment to truly thrive. After being misunderstood and bounced around too many times, Parker has become reactive to people entering his home and to other dogs, even though he previously did well with them in the shelter. Despite these challenges, he remains affectionate, lovable, and treat-motivated, bonding quickly with those he trusts. Currently in a temporary foster, Parker is thriving: Playing with toys Learning and respecting crate training Fully house-trained Soaking up love and cuddles He's an active dog who loves walks, zoomies, and keeping the yard free of critters. Parker rides well in the car and is always ready for an adventure. He walks nicely on leash most of the time but will pull when spotting wildlife, so he needs someone patient who can continue working with him. Parker would do best as an only pet in a home with a fenced yard, with a dog-savvy, adult-only family that can provide structure, guidance, and lots of love. An experienced adopter open to continuing his training - or a rescue transfer with access to a behaviorist - would be ideal. In August, Parker is scheduled to enter an in-home board and train program, but he urgently needs a safe place to stay until then and someone committed to working with him after. We are a very small rescue with limited options. If we cannot find a solution soon, Parker faces the heartbreaking possibility of euthanasia - something we have never had to consider before and desperately want to avoid. Parker is proving every day that he's worth saving - he just needs a chance. Parker is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $400. Foster must be local (within 1.5 hours of Bethel, CT). If you can help, please DM us, call or text (631) 935-3578, or email [email protected].
