PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS: Watson is a friendly Shorthair who enjoys other dogs. Unknown about cats or kids. WATSON'S STORY: Watson is a 7-year-old, 60 lb bundle of energy and love looking for a forever home! He's a social pup who quickly makes friends with other dogs, enjoys a good game of chase or wrestling, and even tolerates grumpy pups. While his cat and kid experience is unknown, he takes treats gently and is always eager to please. He does have a high prey drive, so squirrels better watch out! Watson thrives on activity and would love an active home where he can go on long walks, run in a fenced yard, and play fetch. He enjoys chewing on toys, keeping an eye on his people, and snuggling once he feels comfortable. Although it takes some time to gain Watson's trust, it's time well spent! You will end up with a buddy who greets you enthusiastically at the door even when you've only been gone 5 minutes, who gently kisses your arm when he wants to be petted, who gives your arm a bit more of a nudge when he needs out, who's a snuggle bug when you want to be but will also leave you alone when you don't. And did we mention he'll keep your yard free of squirrels and chipmunks? At night, he sleeps peacefully on a dog bed next to his person. He knows several commands, including sit, down, shake, place, and even how to jump into his human's arms! He's food-motivated and smart but still pulls on a leash, even with a prong collar. Watson is crate-trained and does well when crated, resting quietly without any issues. Watson has a history of seizures and is on anti-seizure medication. With the medication, his seizures are controlled. His ideal home would have patient adopters who are home most of the time and willing to help him build confidence. If you're looking for an active, affectionate companion who just needs a little extra reassurance, Watson is ready to be your loyal best friend! If you're a family who wants to adopt a sweet, energetic boy, then Watson may be just the match for you!
