Adopted from the county shelter this year, Tazz is a very loving dog who has turned out to be a supreme guardian and could serve someone well as a full time 24/7 bodyguard. Tazz is medium size (50lbs), very fit, healthy, elegant and powerful. He also is very fun and goofy when he is off duty. His nature as a watchdog is quiet and observant but cries when his person leaves. We have been working with him on his household 'manners'. He is housebroken, has good table manners with people, shares and takes turns with our other (chihuahua) dog. We are still working on his tendency to jump up to hug and kiss when reunited with his people so I'd say not suitable in a home with young children or frail adults without further training. Tazz is good in the car and well-behaved on errands among the public. We are heartbroken to rehome Tazz. Here is the caveat: We had not yet socialized him around chickens and in a fast moment off leash he killed 2 of our neighbors chickens for sport. When we walk him on leash in our rural area he likes to 'jump scare' large farm animals. That being said, this dog would surely take on a grizzly to protect you. If you found yourself alone in the wilderness he could feed you! We are praying for a loving home for him, preferably away from prey animals.
