About Dusty

Meet Dusty Dusty is a fabulous young dog. He's just a baby at 1 year old! He's safe now with us at our no-kill shelter. Dusty practically grew up at a kill shelter before coming to us. Because he is so sweet, friendly, and outgoing, Dusty was used to help the staff temperament test incoming dogs. He LOVES dogs! At such a young age, he comforts other dogs and makes them feel safe. He also likes cats! Dusty pretty much likes everyone and everything, especially kids! Dusty is friendly, gentle, affectionate, even-tempered, calm, confident, happy, adorable, and smart. Dusty walks easily on a leash, he likes to travel, and he loves run and play in our play yards. He loves to snuggle and will make for a wonderful companion. It breaks our hearts the bad rap pibbles and pibble mixes get, but in our opinion and experience they are some of the nicest, friendliest, smartest, calmest, most even-tempered doggos out there. And bonus�'�| they are minimal shedders!!! Dusty exhibits all of these great attributes and more. Dusty is a big boy at 60lbs., but he is a gentle giant. We hope to find Dusty a loving home for the first time in his life. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
