I don't want him to go to a shelter, but I'm going to be evicted if he stays with me, so he needs a home ASAP. I was able to rescue him, his brother, and mom (also needing homes) from someone who was abusing them. He is reactive on walks as he isnt socialized, but he is truly an velcro dog with me. He always wants to sleep curled up in my arms. He is very scared of strangers though, and does try to nip, but I am trying to work through this with a friend. If you are a patient, experienced dog parent you will definitely be able to make him feel safe enough to be himself. He has only been exposed to the city for three weeks so everything is new to him. He is 5 months old and spent most of his life cooped up inside, so its all just new to him. It doesn't help that I live on a block with a lot of aggressive dogs out in their yards so he gets barked at every day. He is very small for his age, only 22 lbs, so I believe this contributes to his fear of other dogs. Because of his fear in new situations, new people, and strange dogs, it wouldn't be smart to place him with another dog. After he is comfortable it may be possible, as he loves his brother and mom very much, cuddles and plays with them. I haven't tried to introduce him to another dog to test the waters, as he isnt vaccinated. It would be amazing if he could be placed with his mom though, they are cuddling on the couch next to me as I write this. He does bark at people walking by the window a lot, and when I leave (the reason I'm going to be evicted). He learned this from his mom, so if they are separated and he is socialized he could unlearn this. He is a very curious, smart boy, so he will definitely keep you on your toes. He is a good puppy for someone who wants a dog to be active with. He may be small but he loves going on long walks up the highest echo park hills, I'm sure he would LOVE hikes. He has zoomies at least once a day. He is not vaccinated, the person who had him before did not prioritize his health, and I can't afford to. Another reason they need a home ASAP. He is only potty pad trained, although he mostly goes outside, it shouldn't take much time to finish house-training him, especially after he is neutered. He just needs someone to work through the reactivity and anxiety with him and he will be able to thrive in a better environment. He is truly an amazing puppy for those who have a big heart and want to love and be loved.
