About Turkana

Turkana is a sweet, playful, cuddly and sometimes shy dog. She was very nervous at the shelter when we met her, but has really been a happy-go-lucky pup during her foster stay in our home. We have a six-year-old daughter, and Turkana follows her around, sleeps next to her bed and gives her so much attention. Turkana, as a younger dog, has also shown to be a quick learner, and she's a good walker, never pulling. She is shy around our neighborhood's outdoor cats. She is curious about other dogs. We have only heard her bark a couple of times, during neighborhood walks when she hears a dog behind a fence bark aggressively. Inside our house, she is extremely well-behaved considering her age. She likes long hikes, petting, naps, ball-fetching, eating her kibble, being around people - and she's shown to be friendly to 'strangers' she encounters on walks or visitors to our home.
