Name: Biscuit Age: DOB 9/22/2024 Breed: Golden Retreiver, currently 12 pounds, will be large Sex: Female (too young to spay) Location: Lancaster County, PA Puppy Biscuit needs loving help! She is absolutely adorable, extremely smart, and sweet. She needs a chance with a family who can accommodate her special needs. Vet Info: Biscuit is current with her vaccinations, and is too young for a HW test. She has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, an open fontanel, hip dysplasia, inguinal hernia and ataxia. Visually impaired - extent unknown at this time. Her hydrocephalus prognosis is good. Ultrasound through her fontanel and neuro consult confirms that she will be a 'healthy' hydro baby. Her inguinal hernia will need surgery to be corrected. At this time, her hip dysplasia prognosis is unknown due to her age. Dog Info: Biscuit is a precious puppy. Her medical issues do not hold her back from being a happy playful girl. Biscuit was rescued by an employee at a vet's office from a breeder. Breeder was going to have her euthanized. Biscuit is very smart but has the typical attention span of a puppy. She is very food aggressive (breeder reported her being picked on by the others in the litter) and will need to be fed separately from other dogs in the home. Mom says that 'she will eat and then stop abruptly and charge towards the air. If you are close, she will sometimes try to bite you. It is unknown if she just doesn't know what she's doing or what she is thinking. They have tried hand feeding, feeding using a Kong, using a snuffle mat and now are currently using a puzzle bowl which seems to work but she still gets very mad and attacks the air sometimes.' She is crate trained and potty training is going well...she will circle around and that tells you that she has to go pee or poop. Family takes her out before bed around 11pm, at 3am to pee and she holds it until 630am. She is not leash trained yet, and the mom is working on the command 'sit'. She is very outgoing and is good with men, women, children, dogs and cats. She is currently living with two cats. Biscuit will stay with vet employee until a good home is found. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
