Merrick is truly something special! At just over a year old, Merrick is a 45-pound Australian Cattle Dog with a heart as big as his potential. This handsome boy is smart, affectionate, and ready to find a forever home that will embrace him-just as he is. Due to old leg injuries, Merrick can't live an active lifestyle, but that doesn't dull his shine. He'll need a caring foster or adopter who can help manage his mobility with gentle at-home treatments like red light and massage therapy, along with pain medication on days he needs extra support. But don't let that fool you-his spirit is as bright and loving as ever. Merrick may not run marathons, but he will run straight into your heart. He's a total gentleman-calm, friendly, and soaking up the love from everyone he met. He's crate trained, has a medium energy level, and enjoys peaceful companionship over chaos. That is why we recommend no kids. He gets along great with calm dogs, and although he hasn't been cat-tested yet, his sweet and gentle nature suggests he could do well with the right introduction. he definiteyl gets along with small dogs - see his photos. Merrick is loyal, intelligent, and deeply people-focused, a true best friend in the making. All he needs is someone to see past his physical limitations and recognize the perfect companion waiting beneath. He may need a little extra care, but in return, you'll get a lot of love.
