About Phoebe

Adoption Fee: $75
Belgian Malinois
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Phoebe is about a 4 1/2 month old Belgian Malinois female that is around 25 pounds currently. She came up to my 82-year-old relative's house in the Bellaire area after Hurricane Beryl hit Houston, half-starved and with no ID. She tried to take care of her, but this is a lot of dog for an 82 year old, so my family took her to look after her in the meantime. We have taken her to our vet and she has had three series of vaccinations and is completely current on all recommended vaccines and has her rabies collar tag. She is negative for heartworms and intestinal parasites and is on preventative medications for heartworms, parasites, fleas, and ticks. She has NOT been spayed yet just because she is too young to do so. I'll be glad to share our vet's contact info with the adopter so you can transfer all of her records to your vet. Phoebe is an extremely sweet and loving dog, but she really needs a home where she either has room to roam and play / work, or has people home with her during the day. We are gone 10+ hours a day for work, so she's essentially in a kennel all but 4 - 5 hours a day, which isn't fair to her. She is great with our 9-year-old son and she really wants to love on and play with our older cat, but the cat is too old to get used to a dog. Phoebe has never tried to hurt the cat, only seems to respectfully want to play with her, so I think she will be good with other animals once properly acclimated and introduced. We're looking to do what is best for Phoebe and get her into a home that can give her the environment and attention she deserves. She will come with a kennel, kennel pad, bed, raised food and water bowls, food in a plastic storage bin, and any toys / treats you want to take with you. The rehoming fee is specifically for donation to this rescue group and just to make sure she goes to a loving home. If you like, I have lots of other photos I would be glad to share. We are in Cypress, which is on the northwest side of Houston.
