Meet Rudolph, He was listed on the euthanasia list in a high kill shelter in North Carolina. His only crime was he was heartworm positive, and the shelter did not have the means to treat it. We had a very kind foster family open their home to him, and he recovered and has been cleared of heartworm since being in the rescue's care. Rudolph is a very sweet boy and his family says he is your typical hound who loves to be outside and sniffing everything he sees! We have learned that Rudolph would do best with other dogs his size (50-60 pounds) because smaller dogs bring out his dominant side. He is not aggressive, but he's an old dog stuck in his ways! If Rudolph can be the only dog that would be even more ideal. His perfect family will have a large fenced in yard and a very large bed for him to sleep in when it's down time.
